Hello everyone! Here’s what’s going on?
The book is off to beta readers this week, so I hope to make an actual announcement sometime in November about . . . well what’s going on. I hope to have some new fun things associated with it as well! Sorry for all the secrecy, but this one is a bit unusual so I want to launch it right and if any delays come up, not disappoint people.
I’ve got a few ideas for fun smaller books like my resume guide. Debating on where to go with those, but as noted I think “big” books will be one a year or so. I only have so much time.
I do plan to gear up more coaching and speaking in the new year, so let me know what you may need. I want to shift some writing time over to reaching people directly. I think even though we have a stabilized economy, there’s a lot of economic challenges, and I want to really focus on actualizing geek culture.
Seventh Sanctum’s rewrite is looking good – and the feedback helps. I’ve got all the non-generator pages working (though a few I may tweak the formatting on). So next step this week is to try and covert over one basic generator and see if I can make this work. If that works, I’ll go on to the more complex generators. Still guessing on no launch until November.
On the subject of Seventh Sanctum, I know people want the contests back. I’m debating several options, but we won’t see anything for awhile – too much to do! The idea for a community of some kind is under discussion – oddly Im considering a mailing list instead.
Still trying to post on my cooking regularly – it’s proving to be quite fun. I think this’ll be a thing I do constantly – it’s also fun to organize my theories and advice (much like some of my other work it also lets me point friends at it). I’ve also been on an odd cold food kick lately – because previously I was experimenting with multiple chilis. After awhile a big pile of hot spicy bean stew gets old.
Finally, I just caught the new “Sleepy Hollow.” I truly want to recommend checking this out because it has an anime-level “batshit insane pile of ideas” combined with a charismatic and talented cast that manage to pull it off. Tom Mison‘s Ichabod Crane is also funny, charming, and badass in a way that puts me in mind of other actors like Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbach playing “oddball weirdo guy” roles.
So let me know how you’re doing!
