And no, I’m not posting anything from Comic-Con because it’s EVERYWHERE.  Also, I still think “Guardians of the Galaxy” sounds way too ‘Farscape’ for me to feel it’ll be original.

R.I.P.D. tanks at the box office, inviting all sorts of jokes.  You have to wonder if films get so far in the pipeline they can’t be stopped . . .

This is a bit old, but a good explanation of why you should self-publish.  I agree – and my books are my business card in a way (I do need to work on that one I wanted to do on Project Management . .  .)

An Interview With Noah Bradley On Why You Don’t Want To Go To Art School

Noah Bradley is a professional artist who works in gaming and other mediums – and he’s got a bone to pick with “traditional” art school educations that he wrote up at https://medium.com/i-m-h-o/138c5efd45e9.  He points out that a lot of art school careers put you in debt, with less earning potential than many other careers, and you can do it a lot easier.  We’ve seen people call out issues with law school, and medical school – Noah is calling it out about art schools.

So you know the drill – when someone rocks the boat in the creative world, I’m going to interview him.

A New Experiment At MuseHack!

So we’re trying an experiment at MuseHack.

A lot of times I meet people looking for some geeky jobs. Or maybe they just want an opportunity to hone skills, like blogging or doing art.

I also have worked with a number conventions and everyone talks about a need for talent. Several times I’ve hooked people up who needed art or writing.

So what I’m doing is this – I want to try and connect people via MuseHack.

The idea is this. Every week or so I’ll collect posts from:

A) People who need talent (paid or not)

B) People who want to use their talents and get opportunities.

I’ll post them. Repeat as necessary.

If you’re back in the market doing freelance art, need some people for your con, want a place to blog, I’m going to see about setting up a clearinghouse for people. All I ask is if you get posted, you tell people about it!
