• More remakes: now it’s Tales from The Darkside.  COnsidering it’s an anthology, “remake” may not be the right term.
• Temple Run may be a film.  That’s . . . going to not have a lot to work with.
• The fastest growing ten jobs are all in IT.  Anything here you want to do?
• Hulu’s looking to make deals with cable and other companies.  Sounds like some kind of move here.  Of course they have to compete with . . .
• Netflix who is changing their interface to pretty much be more TVish.  Smart move, an upgrade is in order and fits their strong audience gains – and gives room for innovation.  Might need to hire some people (like any of those above ten jobs)
• Also for both Netflix and Hulu, there’s legislation afoot to prevent video throttling.  Good for everyone frankly.
• Sony is focusing more on indie games.  Sounds like they’re really trying to . . . not be X-box.  Now let’s see what this does for others . . .
• Fantagraphics got saved by Kickstarter.  What more could fans do to save companies and lines?  C’mon you know you want to . . .
• Also, the Student Loan industry is a mess, and needs to be fixed.  You knew that.

The movie industry is stuck in a Prisoner’s Dilemma.  Interesting metaphor, but it’s sounding more like Mutually Assured Destruction to me.  Tells me that they industry will probably go down with each member having it’s hands around it’s rivals throats.

• Does the High School Diploma mean anything?  By now I’d say . . . not really.
• Kno is dead.  Why, and what it sold for. A  lesson in arrogance?
• Artists!  The changing designs of food logos over the years.
• Americans ARE cutting cable.  Quartz, one of our new favorite go-tos, explores it in simple graph form.
• Bitcoin exchange . . . vanishes taking lots of the virtual currency with it.  That’s going to have an effect on the currency.
• Gearbox raised money for a video game museum.  It’s going to be in the Silicon Valley area, so you know what to do.  I’m biased towards liking Gearbox anyway, but this is pretty cool – and a good place to get involved.

• Attention artists, here’s a brilliant exploration of minimalist art in movie posters.  What challenges can you come up with?
• There are two kinds of skeptics according to Seth Godin.  One is the kind you need.
• The US Postal Service will work on Sundays – for Amazon.  Not sure how I feel about that exactly.  Kind of bad in that it’s favoritism, kind of interested in wondering about government as contractor.
• Timm Ferris, self-experimenter, is experimenting in Audiobook publishing of other titles.  Hmmm . . . .
• The world economy is still being propped up – it’s just not apparent.
• A look at automated resume processing – which is fascinating in that it’s add odds with a lot of fancy resumes.
