Steve’s Update 8/15/2021

(This column is posted at www.StevenSavage.com and Steve’s Tumblr.  Find out more at my newsletter.)

Whew, another busy week. Beyond the usual, COVID-19 got several people I know, which has been stressful. I’m now backing off of some social plans during the Delta spike.

Giveaways:

A School of Many Futures: The grammar check and final edit is past the halfway point and finishes the coming week. Then it’s on to assembling the document. As noted earlier, the ebook release moved to mid-September and the final print release probably up to mid-October.

Agile Books: “Agile Writer’s Mindset,” my next Agile book, will pick up once I get through everything else – so probably October/November.

The Way With Worlds series: Expect “Man Made Disasters” in November as always. Not much has changed on the new covers, those will start when things are more quiet (maybe I should do one or two for practice.)

The Seventh Sanctum rewrite: Didn’t get as much done as I wanted, but I did figure out the proper launch methods. Now I need to figure the best way to deploy python in this setup, then its back to generators. Sadly this tends to take a hit when other things build up, and I have to stop that.

Steve’s Update 8/1/2021

(This column is posted at www.StevenSavage.com and Steve’s Tumblr.  Find out more at my newsletter.)

Let’s get a quick update on where I am! And that is exhausted!

It’s been a long two weeks of all sorts of changes, interruptions, distractions, etc. I’ve kept up on things, but just barely and a few things have slipped. Really a perfect storm of just everything. Plus side, I got an air fryer.

Now the update!

Giveaways:

A School of Many Futures: I start the grammar check and a final editor readthrough. Then it’s on to assembling and converting the document! Looking good, though my release may end up being a few days into September (see above)

Agile Books: The next book on Agile and Writing is percolating away. However I probably won’t start it until October or November, so release is almost certainly in 2022.

The Way With Worlds series: Still on schedule for November for the next book on disasters (which will use the new cover style). Still no plan to alter the other covers, but I will start before end of year. I confess it’s tempting to do it all over the holidays, but also that’s sorta exhausting.

The Seventh Sanctum rewrite: Held off a bit this week except for research on efficient launches. My big issue is making sure I’ve got the best python versioning setup so I don’t get behind (or quashed by an update). Still thinking we won’t see this until December or so.

Steve’s Update 7/25/2021

So where are my projects?

Giveaways – Grab a sample of “A Bridge To The Quiet Planet” here – https://claims.prolificworks.com/gg/oLvocnGvEp3aOkFRbO7P

A School of Many Futures final edit is now to readthrough and note-checks. For about 2 weeks it’s going through the story and a final review of the editor’s notes. Then it’s check and publish!

Agile Books: I’m getting a feel for the next book “Agile Writer’s Mindset.” There are tons of books on how to write – I want to explore how to think.

The Way With Worlds series returns in November: That’ll be on Man-Made Disasters (but I’d like to call it something else). The cover changes as noted will be scheduled sometime after the novel drops.

The Seventh Sanctum rewrite made more progress – and I’m doing an internal deployment test. I got more unusual generators done, streamlined the code, and have maybe two or three weird ones left. However I’m testing the deployment out – a side project needs a relaunch, so I can use it to test my deployment. Hard to believe I started this last October, but what a year.
