Good day everyone, what’s been up this week?

So what have I done the last week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: Did the final few tweaks before the last run(s).  Looking good – except for one or two “Exposition blocks” and some scenes I can condense.
  • Agile Creativity: I got my feedback!
  • Fanime: Fanime is done, I spoke, and I’m still tired.  Enough said!
  • Chores and Tasks: My plans to front-load my month getting stuff out of the way have worked well!  Really clears my head.
  • Newsletter: As you saw I have a new much friendlier format!

What am I going to do this week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: I want to do a pass using my last reader’s feedback this week.  The goal is “can I do it in a week” which is pretty insane, but this is men.
  • Agile Creativity: I want to read my reader feedback, I may get to it.
  • Blogging: I have a new blog series on Brainstorm Books you’ll really want to read.  It expands my theories – and may become its own book!
  • Seventh Sanctum: I’m reconsidering some more things, like the goal of The Nexus.  Short form is I think I could do it differently, as I got some ideas at Fanime.  I may or may not get to my plans.

I’ve delayed my idea of bookblogging a bit until next week – just want to clear the project list this week.

Looks like I forgot an update last week.  Things are still a bit busy.  So let’s get to it!

So what have I done the last week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: I got the first set of pre-read feedback in and it looks like my second big pre-read feedback and my own final twists can be integrated in one go – so that starts this week.
  • Agile Creativity I got this blog-posts-turned book into one book, formatted it and have it out to people!  Let me know if you want to take a gander.
  • Blogging: Posted my thoughts on an Overwatch MMO (quite proud of those) and more details on the Avenoth solar system from A Bridge To The Quiet Planet – Magic and Technology
  • General Chores: Getting ready for Fanime!

What am I going to do this week?

The name of the game here is “focus.”  I also have a baby shower to go to and an event to run, so it might be a bit occupied.

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: Start the final editing run.  I have no idea how long it’ll take.  I also hope to get more character work back on the cover!
  • Agile Creativity: Send it out to a few more pre-readers.
  • Fanime: Gonna be busy there!

I also realized I have to get back to fleshing out the Nexus at Seventh Sanctum – got a bit rushed in various things (maybe I overdid it there and should have paced myself).

As a note, I’m going to try more “bookblogging” – trying out posting some blog posts out of a book idea to see how it works and if its worth fleshing out.  Look for more soon . . .

Steve’s Update 5/6/2018

Whew, back at it after a week of recovering from allergies and a cold – and other people getting ill as well.  But it’s been productive – as I’ve focused on getting stuff done as opposed to spreading it out – you can read more of what slowed me down in this post.

So what have I done the last week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: I took my first round of edits and got most of them into the book!  This was my major focus of the week.  I also started my series of little “info bits” on the setting!
  • Seventh Sanctum: I did a bit of polishing on the Strange God generator and The Nexus.
  • Agile Creativity: I got out the last post on Agile Principle #12 – and formatted it so I can edit the book.
  • Blogging: I’ve got a more relaxing series coming up – theories on Overwatch where I have fun stepping into a Product Owner/Producer mindset!
  • General Chores: I also pushed to get a lot of my monthly chores out of the way so I can focus!

What am I going to do this week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: I want to get in the rest of the edits from this given pre-reader.
  • Agile Creativity: Going to make a marathon push to get this edited for pre-readers.  Not 100% sure I can do it to be honest, but I’m going to give it ago.  If I can’t my goal will be to finish it NEXT week.
