It’s my weekly Scrum style standup for my audience, so what’s up?

So what have I done the last weeks?

  • “A Bridge To The Quiet Planet”: Writing like crazy with the goal of completing ahead of my plans – end of December, not end of January.  I’m also taking notes for the second edit.  I’ll have more insights to share . . . and yeah I didn’t drop the final chapter.  Sorry on that.
  • Way With Worlds Minibook #6: Is in the editor’s hands.  That’s done.
  • Giveaway: Magic, Technology, and Worldbuilding is free to celebrate NaNoWriMo
  • Speaking: I spoke at the San Jose Public Library on self-publishing!
  • Other Stuff: Mostly chores – laid up because of allergies/a cold.

What am I going to do this week:

  • “A Bridge To The Quiet Planet:” Really post the last chapter (the midpoint) and then just finish the book to edit it.
  • Thanksgiving: I have a turkey, as you may guess.
  • Other Stuff:Trying to relax, of course, and catch up on a few chores.

General

  • My experiment in writing more is paying off.  I’ve reached my goal (sans 330 words, but hey) yesterday.  I think this means I am getting a good idea of my writing pace.

Blockers

  • Thanks to the rain, allergens are in the air, and thanks to winter, colds are going around.  Not feeling too hot righ tnow.

It’s my weekly Scrum style standup for my audience, so where am I?  Besides having missed last week? Yeah it was nuts.

So what have I done the last weeks?

  • “A Bridge To The Quiet Planet”: Chapter 8 is published.  Chapter 9 is written.  Chapter 10 is almost done.  I finished my plot editing and revisioned.
  • Way With Worlds Minibook #5: Queuing up this week.  It’s all ready to go!
  • Columns: I’ve got a lot of columns written up!
  • Other Stuff: I’ve been busy with all sorts of life things – job, visits, studying, cons and more.  I probably lost track of it all.

What am I going to do this week:

  • Way With Worlds Minibook #5: Getting marketing ready and launching it.
  • “A Bridge To The Quiet Planet:” Finishing Chapter 10 (probably) and editing 9 and 10 for deployment.
  • Other: Posting columns, a Halloween party, and of course making plans for next month.

I am probably doing Book 6.  It’s just going to take time.  Still aiming for December.  But that will then mean a break from these for awhile.

I do have some sales planned and I need to get to those.  So stay tuned there!

It’s my weekly Scrum style standup for my audience, so where am I?

So what have I done the last week?

  • “A Bridge To The Quiet Planet”:Chapter 6 is out.  Chapter 7 is being written and is a probably about 2/5 done already – big revelations here when the characters look back on history – and character development as one has to ask just what his goddess is up to.
  • Way With Worlds Minibook #4: I thought I’d take a break.  I didn’t – the cover is done and I edited it.  So I may be ahead of the game.
  • Art: Did more practice cover art that’s now on my tumblr.  This’ll be good because if my fiction takes off, I may do short stories as well and this practice should let me do quality covers.
  • General: Mostly crashed and saw my girlfriend.

What am I going to do this week:

  • Way With Worlds Minibook #4: I will probably format this, as weekend after next is busy.  But I can probably let it slide.
  • “A Bridge To The Quiet Planet:” Pretty much keeping at it.  I may finish Chapter 7 but am not sure.
  • Other: Got a lot of club meetings this week including a writer’s group.

Challenges:

  • Had a bad allergy attack last week and it wore me down.  Though I was productive (hey, what else was I going to do?) I’m keeping an eye on it based on previous experience.
