Steve’s Update 5/6/2018

(This column is posted at www.StevenSavage.com and Steve’s Tumblr.  Find out more at my newsletter.)

Whew, back at it after a week of recovering from allergies and a cold – and other people getting ill as well.  But it’s been productive – as I’ve focused on getting stuff done as opposed to spreading it out – you can read more of what slowed me down in this post.

So what have I done the last week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: I took my first round of edits and got most of them into the book!  This was my major focus of the week.  I also started my series of little “info bits” on the setting!
  • Seventh Sanctum: I did a bit of polishing on the Strange God generator and The Nexus.
  • Agile Creativity: I got out the last post on Agile Principle #12 – and formatted it so I can edit the book.
  • Blogging: I’ve got a more relaxing series coming up – theories on Overwatch where I have fun stepping into a Product Owner/Producer mindset!
  • General Chores: I also pushed to get a lot of my monthly chores out of the way so I can focus!

What am I going to do this week?

The name of the game here is “focus.”  I also have a baby shower to go to and an event to run, so it might be a bit occupied.

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: I want to get in the rest of the edits from this given pre-reader.
  • Agile Creativity: Going to make a marathon push to get this edited for pre-readers.  Not 100% sure I can do it to be honest, but I’m going to give it ago.  If I can’t my goal will be to finish it NEXT week.

Steve’s Update 4/1/2018

(This column is posted at www.StevenSavage.com and Steve’s Tumblr)

Hey everyone, it’s Steve’s update.  So let’s find out what’s up!

So what have I done the last week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: Is out to my pre-readers!  Yay!
  • Agile Creativity: Agile Principle 8 went out – and boy I had a lot to say.
  • Epic Resume Go Rewrite: I got the editor’s comments back!
  • Seventh Sanctum: I just posted the latest update – the Nexus!
  • Other: Mostly cleanup and a few other tasks.  I actually noted I let some stuff go until the end of the month, so instead I’m going to try and get Personal Administrative Stuff out of the way at the start of the month.

What am I going to do this week:

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: Not much . . . except correcting a naming error in the book I sent to my pre-readers.
  • Epic Resume Go Rewrite: I’m taking a break this week to get a lot of general chores done.  I’ll probably try to get it edited out in one go middle of the month.
  • Agile Creativity: Agile Principle #9 is next, and it’s a good one on technical excellence!  This is a subtle one . . .
  • Seventh Sanctum: Tally up feedback on the Nexus and see what people think – so far it’s positive.  Thinking maybe the fastest way to fill it in is a Google form for people along with my own work.
  • Other: Prepare to speak at the Silicon Valley Comic Con!

Steve’s Update 3/24/2018

(This column is posted at www.StevenSavage.com and Steve’s Tumblr)

A bit of an earlier update, so let’s get to it!

So what have I done the last week?

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: Edited!  Ready!  it goes out this week to pre-readers (that can be you by the way).
  • Agile Creativity: Just the usual stuff here – you read the latest post.
  • Epic Resume Go Rewrite: Is off to my editor, and is looking good for coming out end of April!
  • Seventh Sanctum: Got interrupted due to assorted life issues, so sorry on that.  More below.
  • Other: I’m trying to line up new speaking for the year!

What am I going to do this week:

  • A Bridge To The Quiet Planet: Send to pre-readers then take a break.
  • Epic Resume Go Rewrite: Probably not too much right now, wait on the editor.
  • Agile Creativity: Write on the Eighth Agile Principle, which is on sustainability, and is one of my favorites.  Actually it and the Tenth (on minimalism) are my faves because they’re often so contrary . .
  • Seventh Sanctum: Get out the Alpha of the Registry finally.  I’d like to not be distracted, but I got on a real run tweaking things once I started working on improvements.
